We visited for my husband's birthday for a family meal. We reserved a table, and when we arrived, we gave our name and was seated straight away. The server was very helpful and couldn't do enough to make our visit a pleasant one. The food was very good and to a high standard. The cocktails were absolutely delicious! The restraunt felt very cosy and comfy and was very child friendly. Small car park, free parking. Indoor and outdoor seating. Clean toilets. I Would highly recommend the carvery, the best I have had in a long time.

A great little gastro eatery and relatively cheap compared to the other restaurants in the area. We came here twice during our week stay in Bideford, both times being memorable, though not without issue. On our first visit, one in our party ordered a dish with mashed potatoes, but these were still frozen in the centre and so had to be taken back. The other meals were thankfully without any problems. We pre-booked for both of our visits, which is recommended – they were very busy for both times we came. You do have to be shown to your table, but after that, you order and pay at the bar as you go.The staff were all very pleasant with no rudeness experienced, as mentioned in other reviews. Must have been Ben's nights off, as he seems to be getting most of the flack.Recommended, just pre-book, and don't forget to note your table number before heading to the bar to order.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It was clean and tidy, service was excellent and with a smile. Our waitress was considerate of where to seat us with a buggy in tow. The lunchtime offer of 2 meals offered great value, the portions were generous and the food of good quality. You get what you pay for……it's not gourmet quality, but with it being cheaper than a McDonalds (lunchtime offer), I'd definitely recommend. Great offers on drinks, such as refillable coffee and soft drinks and alcohol at prices comparable to Weatherspoons.

Average experience really. Regretting agreeing to not looking elsewhere.Arrived and the table and floor were dirty. There was a long delay between starters and mains. They asked about turning the coffee machine off 2 hours before closing. Starts were on the small side and done poorly cooked. Main course featured chips of varying quality. Festive meal offered good value for money with some nice food. Most annoyingly I ordered a desert from the festive menu (which featured no individual prices) and was charged a price higher than any other desert without being told the price, which wasn’t presented anywhere on the menu. It’s an average restaurant of this type, but I would strongly consider alternatives before coming back here, even if the alternative is better just by cleaning the floor and table better.

Unfortunately having to edit my 5 star review after the awful service or lack off should I say. Had a table booked for 1pm. Arrived just after 1 waited about 10mins. 2 staff members at the bar saw we was there but chose to ignore us. Eventually we went up to the bar to complain, was told they would get their manager, 5 minutes later still no show from anyone. Ended up leaving and going somewhere else!!!.Original review- 2 years ago: "Amazing Food and quality of service. Highly recommended. Staff are very polite and helpful. The food menu is outstanding. Great range of different options."
