Looking for a sandy beach in Bideford? Unfortunately, you won’t find one. Bideford is a port town, not a beach town. However, don’t despair! Bideford is perfectly located to many of the best beaches in North Devon. Within a 10 to 30-minute drive, there are several stunning beaches, each with its own unique advantages. Instow is the closest beach, only a 10-minute drive away, and it’s dog-friendly for most of the year. Westward Ho! is another popular beach and renowned for its surf. Saunton Sands is perfect for families and is dog-friendly all year round. If you’re a surfer, Croyde Beach is a must-visit. Although Bideford itself doesn’t have a beach, there are so many beaches within a stone’s throw away that you can visit multiple beaches in one day. So grab your bucket and spade, and enjoy the sunshine and all the beaches around Bideford!
