What an amazing place, loved the house, the gardens & the furniture is original. So much history & our tour guide had so much knowledge of the place. We were in the house for an hour & spent time wandering around the garden for another 20 & it was worth the £11 fee each. The cafe was not open when we went as only one staff member who was the tour guide who did a great job making our visit great. If you visit Ilfracombe, this is a must see place for all ages who love history & even you may hear or see one of the ghosts who used to live there. A highlight on our last day of our holiday.

Loved this old haunted house – although we didn't experience anything while we were there, unfortunately. We would have liked to. The guide was very knowledgeable, she was quite amazing. She made our visit so interesting and we didnt feel rushed. We were invited to touch things, whereas usually in places this old you're not allowed to. We are so sad it is up for sale – and depending who buys it, it may be lost to the public forever. So glad we went when we did. The house is full of old and interesting furniture, full of history and nooks & crannies. The gardens were a bit on the wild side, but very tranquil. The whole place is in need of a bit of TLC, but we still loved it. It is a very special place.

A fascinating manor and gardens to visit. We enjoyed our tour guided by Fiona, who brings the manor to life with her enthusiasm and knowledge of the manor's history, ghosts and the local area. The rooms which are decorated to reflect the various periods from the manors history are full of interesting items and beautifully carved furniture. Please check before visiting, as at the time of our visit the manor was up for auction by its trustees, and it is not known if it will be reopening from 2023 onwards at this time. Fingers crossed it does.

I love this place, lots of history. Some great tours from Ros and Lesley. Also enjoy the paranormal nights they have occasionally. Also its more than just a haunted Manor house, there are some beautiful gardens to explore with a lake too. It's a very beautiful place.
