Cottage Tea Rooms Clovelly

We visited the beautiful village of Clovelly on a gorgeous sunny Sunday and spent several hours exploring the houses, museums, harbour and coast. We lunched in the Cottage Tea Rooms halfway up the hill which afford wonderful views over the harbour and sea. We ate outside to make the most of the view, and although it was busy it was also peaceful. We chose local dressed crab and smoked mackerel both served with salad, coleslaw a bread roll and an apple. The fish was delicious and very fresh and there was lots if it (you work up an appetite climbing the hill!). The staff we friendly, and efficient and I'd certainly recommend it for a lunchtime stop.

Very unpleasant experience unfortunately. Don't be fulled by how food looks. Fish turns out smoked and cold. Coleslaw has weird taste to it. Bread was good, the only thing I actually ate. Menu definitely need to be re written with specifics, because if I'd knew how fish was cooked I would never ordered it. Also staff was extra grumpy for some reason.

Although it was raining it was still great. There were umbrellas so we could stay dry. The table service was great, friendly staff were quick to fulfil orders. The food tasted great (tuna baguette). Very happy with the view you sit next to.

Nestled in the heart of Clovelly village, this unassuming cafe/tea room surprises with a delightful feature that sets it apart from the rest – breathtaking views of the harbour and beyond. While the sandwiches and lunch mains may be average, the real treat lies in the panoramic views that comes with the outside seating. We had a few varieties of sandwiches, quiche and devon dressed crab, all of them were pretty average with a distinct lack of flavour and priced quite a way off what they would cost if it was sold somewhere else. An average rating based on the quality of the food.

Lovely spot of lunch sat outside. We shared the Farmers lunch and a cream tea.Very tasty food. Great service and reasonable prices.
