A great place for walking with fantastic views of Ilfracombe and the coast. From Hele Bay there are several zigzag paths through the woods, some of which are steep and tricky. The route from Ilfracombe is gentler and more open. At the top (450 ft) there are the earthwork remains of an Iron Age Hill Fort.

A local nature reserve to us that we've explored a lot over the years. Lots of history from the iron age hill fort at the top of the reserve, and more recent gun emplacements on the seaward side. Great for a short walk.

Lovely walking from Ilfracombe to Hele through Hillsborough. Great views of the Bristol Channel and Wales. Only takes about half an hour.
