Ilfracombe Harbour Devon

Ilfracombe Harbour is one of the most scenic ports in Devon

Nestled in a beautiful setting it has breathtaking views of the bay and the rugged North Devon Coastline

It has been operating since 1850, when it was first constructed as a trading port for colliers from Wales

Nowadays, it is a destination for yachts and fishing vessels, and is a beautiful spot for visitors to explore

Visitors can wander along the Quay, where there is seating and great fishing, an amphitheatre and steps leading down to a sheltered beach – ideal for swimming and sunbathing

There is also a pedalo service offering great excursions across the bay

The harbour provides excellent access to both South West coast path and the Tarka Trail which is a route that links Ilfracombe with Barnstaple

For an enjoyable day out or an evening stroll, Ilfracombe Harbour is surely worth a visit

Love this harbour. The tide coming in creates glorious high waves and thrilling spray gets thrown up. Wonderful to watch. Kids love it.The statue is an interesting view although not sure about the message… Verity is the name of a woman shaped like Barbie with the conical breasts of a Sci Fi character. Not sure about the truth there.Further up, is the mosaic for Jonathan Edwards' world record long jump. The visual for each footstep gives a real sense of what an incredible achievement it is. The distance is vast!! Love it.

Wow soo beautiful. A must visit. Lots of little shops and cafes. Very picturesque. Lots of steep hills to give your calves a good workout. Take a coastal walk up elephant mountain (don't attempt if you struggle with steep inclines) its breathtaking at the top. Well worth it though.

Really pretty harbour hosting the Damien Horst statue. Views are stunning and there is plenty to do around the harbour with an aquarium, chapel you can visit and a working RNLI station. Although we didn’t use it the parking seemed to be popular for the town. Plenty of shops and facilities nearby as you’d expect, as well as various boat tours.

Very pretty. Good car park right next to the harbour, land train for £5 from here every 15 minutes takes you for a ride around the area. Busy when I visited last week early June. Shops nearby.

Beautiful town! The views are stunning and plenty of shops and things to keep you entertained for a few hours. Lots of choice for food. Verity, the Damien Hirst statue is a must see. Does get quite busy but doesn't impact the day at all.
