Mortehoe Museum

Mortehoe Museum, located in Woolacombe EX34 7DT, UK is a unique museum that celebrates the everyday lives of local people in the North Devon Coast

Visitors get an insight into the lives, culture, traditions and customs of people who live in the area from centuries ago until today

The museum is filled with artefacts and displays that tell the stories of the people who lived here.

Visitors can also explore the time capsule collection of local objects and images from times gone by.

The museum has regularly changing exhibitions, guest speakers and activities for all ages.

Mortehoe Museum can be found at the heart of Mortehoe Village. We are located at the end of the main village car park, next to the children’s play area. The carpark entrance is opposite the village Post Office.

It makes for an interesting, educational and thought-provoking experience for anyone interested in this part of England’s history and its local people

Open every day except Monday and Saturdays beteeen 11:00-15:00, other than on Tractor & Trailer days when they are open 10:00-16:00.

A great little museum with lots of local history, especially around the two wars. Lots of interesting artifacts. The staff present were happy to talk and answer questions, including advice on local walks and ideas of places to eat. Well done.

Wonderful free museum (donation) with gift shop. Interesting artifacts and historical items. Nice little garden for picnics. Lady working their was great! And told some really interesting stories and facts.

Had to work.to find it, could be better sign posted. Kids loved it, full of historic facts about Ilfracombe.
