Rotary Gardens
Rotary Gardens is a tranquil oasis located in Pilton, Barnstaple in the county of Devon, UK
This remarkable garden was donated to the community by a prominent local businessman and former mayor of Barnstaple William Henry Brown in 1929
The gardens are laid out beautifully with winding pathways throughout maturing trees, specimen shrubs, flower beds and lawns
A central feature is a large pool containing exotic water lilies, which is overlooked by a bandstand
Situated on the fringes of the gardens is a traditional nursery which sells flowers and other decorative plants for sale, as an additional reminder of its rural setting
The gardens provide a peaceful, tranquil refuge for both locals and visitors alike
In addition to offering up a respite from everyday life, the grounds also host several annual events that bring together people of all ages to celebrate and reflect on the beauty around them
