Stunning gastropub where you can enjoy first class pub classics or a more refined menu sourced entirely from their local farm. The chicken pie was particularly impressive but they lost marks for very sluggish service and a disappointing dessert. I would definitely recommend for a memorable meal. It was a small great value considering the quality

The friendly staff and great location were the highlights for us. We arrived without a reservation (foolishly) but yet they still made a plan for us and got us a table on a busy Saturday evening. The decor is lovely and well suited to the area. However, while I applaud the efforts to get locally sourced produce, I think they might want to pick a better farmer(s) to partner with. The pork we ate was really lacking in flavor and overly fatty, leaving a horrid oily taste and feel in the mouth. Furthermore if you are a carnivore I would recommend looking elsewhere, there's no steaks, burgers, meaty stews or any red meat really on the menu. The Fish and chips were excellent, though I couldn't taste anything of the supposed cider used in the batter. They also oversold their creative "Carrot and Licorice" soup. Which, while tasty, had no Licorice in it that I could tell, just a sprig or two of fennel giving the tiniest hint of an aniseed flavor. The menu tries very hard to come across as elevated, but a lot of the fancy names are either for garnishes, or elements of the dish that barely feature on the final dish flavor profile. It is nice place and has lovely people working there, but frankly I'll probably not be going back for the food, not till the season/farmers change at any rate.

Our third trip to the Farmer Arms for a set 3 course Sunday roast, and it didn't disappoint. Fabulous local produce, perfectly cooked in a beautiful establishment. Excellent customer service, really made to feel welcome and looked after. Highly recommend!!

I was working in the area and popped in for a food and something to drink around lunchtime and was immediately met by a gentleman who gave absolutely first class service , he'd then asked where I'd like to be seated and I had chosen the bar area where I took my glass of cola and didn't have to wait overly long for fish , chips and peas to arrive which was fresh and cooked beautifully.I will add to this also by mentioning that it had an amazing atmosphere with how the decor with in the building was.
