Great location but its also on quite a busy road & we got a room that was right next to it so it was very noisy due to the traffic. Nice room but shower cubicle was very small & not great water pressure but water was lovely & hot. Staff we're friendly & helpful especially Tracy she was so lovely & told us places to visit etc. Great place to take the dogs as there's a green just off the car park to walk them around & there's other places local also. Really enjoyed our stay i wouldn't say it's great value though as our room was quite expensive for what it was & didn't include breakfast but I guess you pay for the location.

A group of us went for a last minute roast this Sunday and it was delicious, the beef was super tender, the portions were generous and most importantly for me as a Midlands girl – the gravy was superb. We went with three kids and felt very well looked after all round. It was a shame we ate so much for our mains as we didn't get to sample the desserts but they looked fab too. We'll definitely be returning next time we're in Hartland.

We stayed there during a roundtrip. It is a great old house with character. The owner runs the hotel with heart. The rooms and the guest room are furnished with attention to detail. You get good food as well. The owner rides motorbike so bikers are definitely welcome. I can completely recommend it.

This place is an absolute hidden gem, one of a kind and is our favourite place to go to eat! The food here is always of the best quality, good sized, really reasonably priced, absolutely delicious and it’s really lovely home cooked food. The landlady is such a lovely lady and nothing is to much trouble! Part of the reason we return again and again is because it’s so welcoming, warm and friendly and like a home from home really. I rarely write reviews but this place deserves one for sure. I recommend this place so highly to anyone staying in the area or local if you haven’t been you’re missing out. I can promise you one thing , you will not be disappointed!
