Morte Point

Morte Point gives you an exhilarating coastal experience as you explore its raw beauty through water sports acitivities, wildlife spotting, or even in a relaxing picnicking.

Morte Point

Morte Point is a stunning stretch of coastline located in Woolacombe, Devon, UK

It is an integral part of the South West Coast Path and forms one of the most dramatic sections of coastline in the country

Situated between Baggy Point and Woolacombe, this dramatic headland has been carved by the sea over centuries, creating fissures and caves that can be explored at low tide

The rocky outcrops create an ever-changing jumble of rock stacks, providing prime views across Morte Bay where Atlantic waters lap the shoreline

Morte Point’s dizzying cliffs are dotted with a variety of seabirds including guillemots, razorbills and fulmars, against a spectacular backdrop of clear blue skies and deep green hills

With vast stretches of sandy-white beaches lapped by turquoise waters, it’s easy to see why Morte Point has long been regarded as one of the most beautiful places on the South Coast

Whether you come to explore the incredible wildlife or simply take in the view, there’s something about this place that will captivate your heart

You need to park at the parking (at the entrance of the village), which is quite busy so worth to go a bit earlier. Also there is a ~30mins walk to the point and also a bit of hiking, but it IS wonderful. I have spent 2hours (comfy) there with retour walking and photos and posts and rest at the very point between the rocks, but of course if you want, you can walk around on more trails and places all day long. ;) It is a must see!! I want to go again for longer time for sure.

Have walked the circular route around Morte point starting north side from the vicarage in mortehoe on a regular basis. Starting from the right hand side of the church. It Can get very windy on occasions. Video shows view from south side of Morte point towards comesgate beach towards Woolacombe beach. Great walk and if you walk from right of the church as your base you have a town farm house for teas and food and drinks also two great pubs in mortehoe. Parking in mortehoe also. Great venue plenty of walks. Down to Woolacombe, morte point, and along the road towards Bull point lighthouse. If morte point is done seals and Belted Galloways.
