Cobbaton Combat Collection

Cobbaton Combat Collection is an interactive museum in the rural village of Cobbaton near Umberleigh in Devon, UK

The museum gives visitors a unique chance to experience the history of WWII through over 5,000 items of historic military vehicles and artifacts

The spread of vehicles and artifacts range from Jeeps and motorcycles to uniforms, weaponry, and personal items that provided a snapshot into day-to-day life during the war

The collection also includes a vintage NAAFI tearoom, period shops and exhibitions that feature audio/visual presentations

Upon entering, visitors are welcomed by staff wearing uniforms and ready to share their knowledge and provide tours

This place is massive and has so much stuff I don’t think I even saw 50% of it as there are items everywhere you look. The collection is absolutely huge and has something for everyone.The tanks are something that everyone should see, if not to just appreciate the sheer size of them!!Attended during a memorabilia event and there was all sorts of items for sale.Perfect for people of all ages, loads of parking and lovely people.Can’t wait to go back

In need of a something to do during a rainy half term we decided to head over to the Cobbaton Combat Collection to have a mooch about. The Collection is full of interesting items that you can get up close and personal with, which makes it a more tactile experience and less like a boring museum. My teenager loved learning about the age and use of the various machines and loved to see all the other combat gear like the guns and swords. There was an element of education in the WWII part and also some really interesting stuff to buy in the shop. I really wanted to buy myself an ammunition box but couldn't think of a use for it. My son wanted to buy a Bren gun magazine……

Excellent and eccentric collection from military toothbrushes to main battle tanks crammed into every available space. Several hours required to appreciate it all. Snacks and drinks available, and a wide range of militaria for sale to take home.

Great little museum / collection. With a surprising number of things to see. Also a very nice Cafe on site. Staff were also great

Really surprised me how many army vehicles they had, my 6 Yr old son loved looking into them and seeing the different shells in the floor. The place looked, smelt and felt old which is exactly how a historical collection should be, much more realistic than a tank in a museum on a polished floor. Pictures are just a few of the vehicles there.
