View was amazing sat downstair with our dog. Service was really good, very attentive staff and very friendly. The food was great, we are both veggie and the wellington was the best roast dinner we've had! Had 3 courses and thought the price was very good especially for the quality.

6 of us including 2 children had early evening dinner. Be sure to book you may be lucky like us with a super window table. We had different meals which were all perfectly presented and tasted delicious(everyone's plate was clear). Plus thank goodness we were tempted by the deserts which were equally good. Excellent friendly happy service. If you are in Appledore this is a must on your list. PS I was fortunate there was curry night special!!

This is the best pub food I've had in Devon. It knocks the spots off of any Michelin star pubs I've eaten in before. We made a mistake with the booking for six of us (wrong week) and it was dealt with immediately, with good humour and without fuss: we were all grateful. Service was friendly, informative and prompt. The place was warm, which makes it much easier to relax. The food didn't leave you uncomfortably full, it wasn't fussy or greasy. The vegan options were both good. Our server told our two football mad children about his game that day and when he played in the Polish 2nd division. Our dog also was made to feel welcome. I haven't got a bad word to write about this place.

Came by this little bistro pub whilst walking parts of the SW Coastal Path, and what a find. Fabulous views, great food, the generous portions beat us, all with friendly service. Would definitely recommend but plan ahead and book. It is very popular!

As a local we have been here before and was disappointed by the service. We walked past on mothering Sunday and noticed lots of empty tables outside in the sun and thought we would pop in for a drink. The man on the door said it was fine but had to check with the bar staff if they could do us a drink making us already feel slightly unwelcome. Once we stepped over to the bar another member of staff quickly came over to us to see what we were doing and told us they were too busy for us to grab a drink and sit outside. The original man who had let us in called over to her to say it was fine but at this point we felt very uncomfortable and a bit silly. Being 38 weeks pregnant I just wanted a lemonade and sit down outside so we went to the beaver where they were very welcoming.
