Shangri-La is a stunning reverse-level cottage nestled in Bideford, Devon.

This pet-friendly holiday abode provides a top-notch retreat for eight lucky guests. With modern amenities and plenty of rustic charm, not to mention the nearby180-mile Tarka Trail, you won’t be stuck for things to do.

Upon arrival, you’ll be taken in by Shangri-La’s picturesque exterior – complete with wooden accents and large windows that flood the interior with natural light. Step inside and head upstairs to the open living space; its kitchen area features a large range cooker and dishwasher, so cooking up a feast or a beach picnic will be a breeze.

Unwind with a film in the comfortable sitting area, or head into the snug/sunroom for a quiet read – whichever suits your holiday mood. A handy cloakroom is also available on the first floor, perfect for freshening up before dinner.

On the ground floor, younger guests have plenty to keep them entertained with a games room; filled with a pool and table tennis table. There is even autility room for wet-suits and sandy towels, as well as a bathroom for enjoying a restorative soak.

Four well-appointed bedrooms also await; three on the ground floor and a king-size master bedroom accompanied by en-suite bathroom on the first floor. If that wasn’t enough, there’s also a spacious balcony to take in the sights of old bridge, river, and the golden sunset.

Don’t forget to make use of Shangri-La’s outdoor space too; a decked pathway leads to a far end of the garden and a hot tub-perfect companions to lush vegetation, a pond and lily pads.

There’s plenty to explore around Bideford and the surrounding area; art galleries, nature reserves, plus the beaches of Westward Ho!, Appledore and Instow are all within easy reach.

Perhaps take a ferry trip over to the quaint island of Lundy and swim in the sea, spot puffins, and enjoy some warden-led activities.

Families love visiting the BIG Sheep, with its range of animal attractions and amusements, whilst the Hartland Devon Heritage Coast promises dramatic bays, coastal paths and stunning headlands with plenty to explore.
