Stoneleigh is an impressive and unique period house in Northam, one of North Devon?s most popular small towns. The house dates back to 1881 and was once home to Field Marshal Sir Gerald Templar. The Victorian architect William Bryden originally designed the property and it features ornate brickwork, original sash windows and a well-manicured wrap around garden.

Enter through a sunny glazed porch to the grand front hall with restored tessellate floor tiles and make your way to the formal sitting room or the peaceful drawing room. The striking former library is now a smart dining area that is perfect for dinner parties or special occasions and the sitting room has a sky TV, wood burner and ornate ceiling. The kitchen is well equipped, featuring a 5-door Aga and pantry, and catering services can be arranged.

Upstairs are six bedrooms, all with big sash windows and views over the gardens. The master bedroom comes with a handsome four poster bed, en-suite bathroom, double room with en-suite, two further twin rooms and a single room that share a large family bathroom. There is also Cider Cottage, which is a self-contained suite with a super king size bed and its own small kitchenette with fridge, cloakroom and seating area. The coach house in the grounds offers two bedrooms, a sitting area with wood burning stove, basic kitchen/diner and a family bathroom.

Outside is a large garden with a lawn, pond and decking with table and chairs. It is an ideal base for exploring the area and the nearby sandy beach at Westward Ho and historic port and market town of Bideford. The rugged North Devon coastline and South West coastal path are also popular attractions for walkers.
