The people that run this site are the most amazing hosts! We arrived late, and they were totally fine with it, and came and met us to show us the pitches in offer. So friendly to everyone, stopping to chat to people even though they had a million things to do! When it was time to feed the cows they stopped by to let the kids at each camp feed them which was so lovely to see them go the extra mile to get the kids involved! They couldn’t do enough for us, plenty of advice, charm and we can’t wait to go back soon

Great hosts, and the pod was really idyllically located next to the river. Good bbq and fire pit included. Just a shame it was so wet with the great British weather. As a local devonian lad i was prepared, but advise that you bring wellies and a waterproof. However don't let the weather spoil the location it's very beautiful.

A gorgeous rare breed farm who have a few spaces to pitch up alongside the river running through their meadows. We went in our VW campervan. Quite, stunning views, beautiful cattle, loads of natural wildlife and lovely, lovely hosts.

There is a lot to say about this fantastic camp site 😍 We had booked a Riverside pitch, which were were able to choose on arrival. The pitch sizes were large, level and we had access to the river Taw. From the pitch you could relax and watch the abundance of wildlife. This was right up my street being a nature lover. We saw Kingfishers, egrets, moorhen chicks, yellow wagtails, buzzards, bats, squirrels, fish, butterflies, bumble bees and much more. The site is located by the river Taw and surrounded by picturesque hillsides and forrest. At night there is no light pollution at night giving you a spectacular show of stars, satellites and the milky way. The owners are very much into the conservation of the wildlife and rare breed cattle, which were grazing in the field in the centre of the campsite. It was lovely to see the different cows and calves. Especially the little orphan calf being hand fed. 😊 There were plenty of benches along the riverbank for the use of campers who like to picnic, a rope swing for children to play on, archery and axe throwing lessons available at the weekend. The river was shallow enough for all ages to enjoy, whether it be paddling, swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding or just relaxing on the pebble banks. There is a large meadow away from the river for campers, offering lots of space for all sizes of set ups. By the meadow the owners are digging a large lake which will be a wonderful addition to the farm. The very well maintained compost toilets, washing up area, water and showers are located in the middle of the campsite, accessible by a level track. They are a little walk, however; we did not find this an issue as we have a toilet tent for convenience and a trolley to carry the water. There are a few luxury pods available at the other side of the farm which are perfect for families with young children. The owners were amazing, Marcus and John couldn't be more friendly and welcoming. We were shown where everything was on arrival. They were available via text if you needed anything eg, fire pits and wood delivered to your door. There is a hairpin bend to navigate into the site, but as long as you take it easy or if in a Lwb vehicle use the extra space on the bend to drive into and reverse down you will be fine. If in any doubt just call the owners and they will help you. This site has become my absolute favorite, we will definitely revisit and recommend to all our friends and family. 😍
Very complicated campsite. In some ways great wild camping (as advertised) but in other ways a lazy field where you're left to fend for yourselves. Toilets, far from all tents and just two of them, arbitrarily marked as male and female, were too often full or missing the requisite sawdust. The lights in the loos were often not working leaving you to wee in the dark. The whole site is a loop around a field of cattle. There is a road around the field too, so cars pass very close to your camp which is less than ideal. On a positive note, the farm hand brought us free wild mushrooms. The river is right there and great for a dip, although watch for the precipice down to the river. It is a beautiful location too, however it feels that came for free and the bits don't by those running the show detract rather than add to it. Not a site I'll be rushing back to anytime soon
