The Shippen offers a tranquil retreat for four guests and their canine companion, set peacefully in the hamlet of Gooseham in northeast Cornwall.
Inside, the homely lounge provides a selection of DVDs and a wood burning stove to relax around in the evenings. The kitchen comes equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, allowing you to prepare meals with ease.
After dinner, take a seat out on the patio furniture, immersed in the tranquil setting. For the night, two bedrooms offer restful sleep; the master featuring a tasteful king-size four-poster, and the twin-bedded room ideal for younger guests. Further accommodation lies in a Jack-and-Jill bathroom, featuring a roll top bath, walk-in shower and hand-held shower with two heated towel rails.
When you’re ready to explore, you’ll find plenty to do locally, including walks on country lanes and coastal paths. Nearby is the historic Bush Inn, an old 13th-century pub open all day every day noon until 10, known for its blissful garden with sea views, and roaring fire on cooler winter days.
